We run group tastings 3–4 times a month. Every tasting includes a tasty cheeseboard and expert tips from our WSET-trained staff, wine makers or brand ambassadors, making it fun and informative.
Our bespoke private tastings offer a relaxed and enjoyable evening of exceptional wine and cheese — perfect for gatherings with friends, family, or special occasions. Hosted in our shop, these sessions combine fun and education in an intimate setting.

For groups of 4+ guests, we offer private tastings. These usually consist of 4 to 5 pours and a cheese board and tastings can be developed around your requirements. Contact us with your ideas and we’ll be in touch to discuss your perfect private tasting event.

Throughout the year we hold special events at Liquorice from “meet the winemaker” nights to our hugely popular “Christmas Walk Around”. We also work with local and not-so-local vineyards and breweries to organise exclusive tours and tastings. Check out the calendar for upcoming events.
Portuguese Wine Tasting - £40pp

Portugal has a great tradition of winemaking with a wealth of characterful (if sometimes unpronounceable) indigenous grape varieties as well as a wonderfully varied climate.
Like its neighbour Spain, Portugal has been undergoing something of a quiet revolution over the last couple of decades. A reluctance to follow trends & plant international grapes is now paying dividends & the new breed of wines are more than able to compete on the world stage.
The unique flavours that are the hallmark of Portugal's indigenous grape varieties have become somewhat of a ‘trump card’ & we are looking forward to welcoming Rui Santil, Portuguese Estates Brand Ambassador of Liberty Wines to show a selection of his personal standouts.
From deliciously crisp, summery whites to rich robust reds there will be a lovely variety on offer & as always, the wines will be accompanied by a selection of artisan cheeses from our deli.

Greek Wine Tasting - £40pp

Greece was once one of the foremost producers of wine in the ancient world. However, in contrast to the country’s important wine heritage, modern Greek wines have only recently reached the rest of the world.
These days, Greece offers outstanding wines made from indigenous varieties & this tasting will be a great way to expand your palate. From Assyrtiko to Malagousia, Xinomavro to Agioritiko & many in between, we may not be able to pronounce them, but we definitely enjoy drinking them!
John will be showing five of his current favourites in a variety of colours & styles &
again, the wines will be accompanied by a selection of artisan cheeses from our deli.

Ahead of the late August Bank Holiday, we’ve covered all your weekend rosé wine needs with a special tasting event.
At just £30pp, we’ll be showcasing 5 wines, including one very popular sparkling and an iconic Provence. Guess the correct order of retail prices of all 5 wines, and enter to win a bottle of the Provence rosé that will feature on the night.
Included in the price, we’ll have a grazing island making this a fun, relaxed and informal night.
