Notes: This crisp white wine shows incredible mineral, zesty citrus & floral notes, with a hint of spice & characteristic hints of bitter almond. nOn the hills near Gavi, not far from the Ligurian Sea, the Cortese grapes are grown, producing this wine. Cortese is a white grape variety grown almost exclusively in the Alessandria area, especially on the hillsides surrounding the town of Gavi. This variety is not very robust & requires good climatic conditions in order to ripen properly. In the area, it has found the essential conditions to produce excellent results. The soils are rich in marls & fossils, providing a unique terroir for this unique wine.

Producer Info: San Silvestro is located in the territory of the Commune of Novello. The grapes are mostly grown in the Langhe & from vineyards found in the Roero & the Monferrato regions. San Silvestro represents the continuation of a project begun by Giovanni Sartirano which has been passed down through four generations. Today it is run by cousins Paolo & Guido Sartirano & San Silvestro has gradually expanded beyond the local market & their wines can be found around the world.
