Further Info:
The Fillioux family has been making wine and eau-de-vie in the Grande Champagne region since 1880. This region is known as the “Premier Cru” of Cognac.
Five generations of the Fillioux family have kept their methods and knowledge alive. This has given Jean Fillioux Cognac its unique character and consistency.
The family runs everything themselves. They carefully grow their vineyards and select Ugni Blanc grapes. They use traditional Charentais copper pot stills for distillation. This makes a full-bodied eau-de-vie. Then, they age the cognac in French oak barrels. This adds richness and depth.
The estate’s location in Grande Champagne is also important. The soil and climate there are perfect for growing grapes with high acidity and aromatic potential. These are key for making fine cognac. The family’s skills and these natural factors create a powerful and elegant cognac with a long finish.
