Produced by the Sichel family from a revived estate in the Entre-Deux-Mers, the deep garnet red Argadens is a classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot, giving the wine good weight & firm structure from the Cabernet & a lovely ripe raisiny fruit of the Merlot grape. Aromas of cassis abound on the nose, quickly followed by hints of chocolate, spice & elegant oaky notes. A sweetness on the palate is enhanced with plummy fruit flavours & a creamy smooth finish balanced by fresh & fine grained tannins. Truly a great value wine & one which is the perfect accompaniment to beef stews, cottage pie, roast pheasant & other game, as well as mature cheeses.
A superb 12th century property located on one of the highest points of the rolling `Entre-Deux-Mers` wine region of Bordeaux, near the town of Langon. The estate covers 45 hectares on clay-limestone soils, allowing good drainage as well as exposure to the sun & cool breezes. The property has recently been restored & revived by the Sichel family, owners of Chateau Palmer & Chateau d`Angludet.
