A soft washed rind cheese that is made in the Alpine region of Haute Savoie. Love the origin of the name, ‘reblocher’ literal transalation means ‘to pinch a cow’s udder again’ and dates back to how in the 14th century, landowners would tax farmers on how much milk they produced. This led farmers to not milk their cow’s entirely until after this was calculated. Resulting in a much richer milk. It was only after the French Revolution when this tax was revoked that it became well known outside of the region. Traditionally enjoyed with bread, cornichons and ham, this is also fantastic melted and is a part of a lot of famous Alpine dishes including Tartiflette
